Kitchen Studios

Every house and flat in the country has a kitchen. They come in all shapes and sizes. There are period kitchens, modern kitchens, family kitchens, blue kitchens and red kitchens. There are lots of amazing kitchens in lots of houses that are happy to have location film crews in their houses for shoots.

There are a few houses that specialise in having film crews shoot in their kitchens and these houses are now included in the Amazing Space Studios directory as they blur the lines between what is really a location house, but has become so adept at having shoots that they’re now almost considered to be studios.

Shooting in real houses is all good, but there are occasions when its much better to shoot in a studio kitchen. For a start there is normally more space for all the equipment that accompanies any filming or photography. Like kitchens in real houses, studio kitchens come in all shapes and sizes, so the decision on where to shoot is normally a creative one rather than a practical one.

SHOOT KITCHEN SPACES

The kitchen island has become an almost essential part of any shoot kitchen. The camera can be set so the kitchen island is positioned between the camera and the model. The cooking action is then clearly seen in the foreground and the kitchen wall cabinets can be seen in the background. In a studio kitchen there’s plenty of room for the lights both to the sides and above the framed shot.

C R I X U S    S T U D I O S

Crixus Studios  have a bespoke kitchen studio which is completely beautiful and unique, you won’t find another kitchen like it! This rustic space is set up with film and photography in mind with 3 phase power a variety of props, kitchen + dining sets and with a large open area for production on the other side of the kitchen. Housed on the corner of the warehouse, the kitchen has three huge windows, which let in loads of natural light, perfect for some stunning golden hour photography or filming. All three windows also have full blackout blinds as well as rustic curtains to add some diffusion to the sunlight.

F A C T O R Y     S T U D I O S

Factory Studios have 4 light & bright daylight studios in West London, with white walls and floors and East & West facing windows. Each studio has a fully fitted kitchen, ideal for food and cooking shoots. These spaces also each offer a balcony with city views.

F I R S T    O P T I O N     S T U D I O

The kitchen at First Option Studio is set in a stunning Victorian warehouse building. The wooden kitchen, built by one of the last cabinet makers of old Shoreditch, sits comfortably amongst the honeyed colours of the floor and roof timbers and the soft yellow of the London stock bricks.

T H E   S T O R E  C U P B O A R D

At The Store Cupboard the large kitchen island, made of concrete and heavy wood, can in fact be rolled around the studio, making this a remarkably flexible kitchen space in which to  shoot. Behind the concrete surface of the kitchen island are the usual kitchen appliances, but the white brick back wall is broken up by simple, slightly rugged shelving.

T H E    S P R A T T S   F A C T O R Y

The Spratts Factory is a breathtaking apartment that straddles the line between studio and apartment. There have been so many shoots in this cavernous space and the owner is so experienced at hosting shoots that we’ve included this glorious apartment in the Amazing Space Studios directory. The paired back kitchen is positioned under a mezzanine floor, but is open to and compliments the vast open plan living space that is the essense of The Spratts Factory.

69 Drops have a full daylight studio with large east and west facing windows. They are proud to offer 1300sq ft of open space with 3.5m ceiling, 5m wide Infinity Cove and a goods lift. The large, brand new and fully equipped kitchen of Studio 1 is the centrepiece of this food photography studio in East London.
