Studio Spotlight: Zen 34
8th January 2025

Zen 34 is a glorious open-plan space located within the ever-popular Dehavilland Building in East London. Originally designed by Sir Owen Williams, the building is an iconic spot in Hackney and a wonderful example of industrial Art Deco architecture. Zen 34 is a highlight within the Dehavilland Building, with immaculate interior design and a clean main space for filming or photography.

With a large lounge/kitchen/bedroom space, Zen 34 gives you ample room and flexibility to achieve your shoot aims. A separate second bedroom also allows for production support and privacy. High, white-painted ceilings with hanging black lights add an industrial edge to the location, but the main draw has to be the long row of windows along the far wall, which lets in a plethora of glorious natural light. A long balcony also provides some exterior options with a London backdrop.

Zen 34 is a brilliant example of a classically industrial space modernised for your comfort and best use. This space is designed for creative flexibility, offering various settings or areas for different shoots, from fashion to product photography. You can contact Zen 34 directly on their listing page, where they will be very happy to help and welcome you to the gorgeous location. This similar studio is also located in the Dehavilland Building; both are brilliant shoot locations.
